What is a Connect Group?
A Connect Group is a home fellowship made up of 10-16 people who meet weekly to share, study and support one another.  A Connect group is an Acts 2 Biblical community where believers gather together, share in God’s word, and open up their lives to each other.  A trained leader and host lead each group.
When and Where Do They Meet?
Connect Groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout Wellsboro. Most evening groups start between 6-7 and all are finished by 9:00.  A typical group will meet for two hours including refreshment and fellowship time.
How Long Do They Last?
Each Connect Group session lasts eight- ten weeks.  There are four sessions throughout the year, some choosing to break during the summer.
What is the Required Commitment?
Joining a Connect Group requires a ten week commitment to attend weekly meetings and do the homework ahead of time. Obviously, allowances are made for sickness, vacation, work conflicts and other special events. This commitment is the key to a strong Connect Group.
What Will We Study?
The studies are based on the previous weekend’s message.  These “sermon-based” Connect Groups are built on what we call a “Lecture-Lab” model. Imagine the weekend message as a lecture on Christian living, and the Connect Group as a lab where you get to roll up your sleeves and discuss how the weekend’s message works in real life. Each week there will be a series of Bible passages and questions in your bulletin to study before the meeting.  It will usually take 20 to 30 minutes per week to complete the homework.

What About Child Care?
We encourage each group to provide an environment that allows for intimate discussion.  Each group may handle child care differently.  In some cases, parents have chosen to take turns watching the children in another room in order to allow for the highest level of participation. Other parents choose to join a Wednesday evening connect group while their children are attending Awana. Parents of high schoolers may also attend the Sunday evening connect group during Fusion, our youth group.

How Do I Choose A Group?
When selecting a group, we strongly recommend you choose a group based on its leader-host team rather than its location or night of the week. We believe that groups do best when members share common interests with their leaders, hosts, and other group members. In the Connect Group catalog we have included short biographies with the interests and passions of all of the leaders and hosts. You may find that is the most effective way to connect with others.  If you have any questions (especially if you are new to WBC), please do not hesitate to call the church office, and we will gladly assist you. Keep in mind that it might take two or three groups before you find the perfect fit, but don’t worry, you will find it!
How Do I Sign Up For A Connect Group?
As we begin each quarter we offer registration weekends, where you will be able to sign up for groups at tables in the refreshment area. However, you are free to join any time! You also can call Pastor Mike at (570) 724-3741 for more information or email
