Biblical Counseling

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU · Biblical counselors are ambassadors of Christ, committed to the biblical church roles of soul care and discipleship through:

  • Loving - God calls us to build strong connections with others. In a framework of a loving,trust-filled, involved relationship, God’s work of change can thrive. You can expect us to empathize with your suffering, care when you hurt, demonstrate patience when you struggle, and rejoice with you as you grow!

  • Knowing - We are committed to getting to know you on more than a superficial level. In order to do this we will actively listen, ask important questions, challenge your tendencies, and help you in self-reflection.

  • Speaking Truth in Love - This means bringing God’s truth to bear on you in your situation and helping you to see your life clearly through the lens of God’s Word. We will also encourage you with hope found in Christ.

  • Doing - We are with you through the whole process, which means helping you to apply the insights God has revealed to you in your daily life and relationships in practical, specific ways. We will serve as encouragers and part of your accountability system. And when you are ready, we will help you transition out of counseling and into the care of your local church.

Please reach out. You will be SO glad you did!

BIBLICAL COUNSELING · Counseling received through Christ Church is religious in nature and is conducted under the authority and leadership of Christ Church, its mission, core values, and statement of faith. Our counseling is based solely on the principles of Scripture. Christ Church has provided biblical counseling training to our counselors through an established curriculum by the Institute of Biblical Counseling and Discipleship (IBCD) and the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). Individuals who completed or who are in the process of completing their training are able to counsel in the following areas:

  • Individual biblical counseling regarding spiritual and personal issues, such as, but not limited to: grief, substance abuse, domestic abuse (abused and abuser), depression/anxiety, self harm, eating disorders, fear, and anger.

  • Premarital and marital biblical counseling

  • Family/parental biblical counseling. With children under the age of 13, we work primarily with the parents and/or with the parents and children together.

  • Adolescent biblical counseling with parental consent and involvement.

  • Financial biblical counseling
